Anime, for me, (while it makes me mad, that this country cut it up) I feel the story is more relatable, the characters are more real to me, whereas in the manga, they seem more unattainable, like these song divas now!

Hey I have nothing against the manga or it's supporters, but let's
admit it, if not for the anime version of SAILORMOON, she would not have become
the Huge Successful Phenomena that she is today. But still my respects to Sensei
Naoko Takeuchi, if not for her brilliance SailorMoon would still be a myth. So
arguably my vote goes for the ANIME! SAILORMOON FOREVER! VIVA LA RAZA!

Anime or manga? What a question to ask! For this I'd have to say that
comparing the two is unthinkable. Naoko-sensei's manga is heartfelt and
fast-paced with tons of fantasy and mythology. Her art is also a positive part
of the manga. Her stories are so cute and fun yet emotional. But Naoko-sensei's
work has a downfall -- poor villain development (well when it comes to the
"major" villains such as Queen Beryl, Nehelenia, and Galaxia she develops them
fine... but characters like the Four Sisters and the Amazon Trio get little
development). But the anime is great in the fact you get the whole thing --
animation, music, and lots of character development. However, the anime's
downfall is that it was so different from the manga that parts of it is
uninteresting. But all in all I find that both are really good. A final note
though... hating any characters is a major sin for any Sailor Moon fan. :P I
think those who hate Chibi-Usa don't understand her loneliness, for those who
dislike Taiki's forehead... it's because he doesn't have bangs, and for those
who say Minako is a clone of Usagi why not take a look at Minako's episodes
(such as when she fights Catarina or when she gets her pure heart taken).
I prefer the manga to the anime hands-down. The anime is funny, and I love to watch Usagi fall flat on her face (in fact I think she has it down to an art) but when it comes to preference, the manga comes up on top because it's always straight-forward as far as the plot is concerned (no extras unless you're counting ChibiUsa's Diary) The artwork is always guaranteed to be beautiful (unlike the anime sometimes). I prefer the Manga, because you're there. Books can take you places, where when it comes to the TV you just vegetate for the most part.
Hmmm... interesting. I started this SM obsession by watching the anime (dubbed) in the USA. But I liked it cause of the magic really. I have always been fascinated with that. It wasn't until later that I got to read the manga, so I have to say anime then manga. The manga is more deeply described as far as I know so it has it's good. So really both 50/50...*sweat drop*

Manga. If I had the chance of remaking the anime, I would. I was watching the anime (that I have on cassette) and I noticed the lack of effort they put into the show. The only thing I like about the anime is how they transform.
Raven
Well, I like the manga better. In the anime they messed up everybody's personalities. Like the 3 Lights. If Naoko-sama wants them to be female, LET THEM BE FEMALE!!!! And with Zoicite and Kunzite, Fish-eye, and the 4 sisters. And I was so pissed that they didn't say anything about the generals being Darien's equivalent of scouts into the anime. (Note: Some of this may not be true, cause I've been a dubbie- anime only- for most of my life)
I think I like the manga more (also because tuxedo mask is so romantic there).
I prefer both versions of Sailor Moon. Both have good and bad points. In the manga it gets more in depth with the characters families, beliefs, and emotions. For example, in the anime you never get to learn about Amy's parents, exept that her mom's a nurse or doctor. In the manga you find out more about Amy's mom, and you learn that her dad's an artist, and left to paint nature in his studio years ago.
Also the emotional parts in the manga get more in depth with their feelings, like when Darien got taken by the Negaverse :(.... But in the manga the enemies don't last that long. In the anime you get to know the minor villans better (e.g. Jedite, Catzi), they last 5 or 8 episodes. In the manga they last for one comic. That is the bad point.
In the anime all of the people seem younger and less mature than they are in the manga. But Darien... hee hee... looks hotter!:)** You actually get to see attacks in the anime, which is pretty cool. And you get to see how they transform. You also get to hear cool music like "My Only Love" (a touching song) and "A Maiden's Policy," blah, blah, blah. You also get to see more of Serena's other friends like Molly and Melvin.
Well, there's my opinion. I will be sure to write about other things too. Peace out moonies!!
The manga is way better!!! I hate the anime it's so dumb!!! The mag looks better too and if it was not for the manga the anime would not be here. And Naoko was mad about some parts of the anime too.
I prefer the manga. It explains a lot more and is the first story. It also makes the characters more mature and Darien not a jerk in the first season. In fact he's never a jerk in the manga.
Hy...anyway, I prefer the manga version because... well I have many reasons but here a some of them:
1.Even if I haven't seen the manga or the pictures in them, because in my country they are like impossible to get, I have read them on an internet site and I could say from the beginning that the story (in the manga) is much more romantic, beautiful
2. The story line is the original like Naoko-sama wrote it
3. The love between Usagi and Mamoru feels more real and, to defeat the enemy, Usagi and Mamoru usually kiss and carry on the battle when in the anime Mamoru-san doesn't have a personality and what's up with all those speeches
4. The story in the manga is set on many levels (more than the anime) and the story with the cauldron is more mature
5.Naoko-sama finds her words quicker and they are more beautiful
I like manga because in the anime the drawings aren't that good and the story changes too much.
Although the anime has it's strong points and cuteness (Amazon Quartet personalities to name one) but I must go with the manga. Mainly: It is the REAL story. I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks at the anime as a dub and I'm deeply upset about the changes made. People say the English dubbed anime is misleading- they obviously haven't read the manga.
Definitely the manga is my favorite. It has such beautiful pictures, character depth, and I enjoy how much deeper and a tad darker it is than the anime.
I much prefer the manga to the anime. It seems to be aimed at an older (or more mature) audience. It plays with actual scientific language, and goes deeper into explanations of powers and phenomena. The characters are more developed, and more mature (especially Usagi, whose anime character I near despise, but whose manga persona I find endearing.) There seems, also, to be much more content, more focus on the story than the flashing lights and attack/transformation sequences. That is merely a consequence of the media, I fear.
I like the anime better. I just think manga pictures look a little funky, that's all.
I prefer the manga over the anime because the characters aren't as stupid, Mamoru is actually worth something (and dresses better), the plot moves right along, and everyone just seems more mature and well spoken. Also, things seem to fit together more.
I like the English translated anime over the manga cuz 1)The manga storyline makes me sad, and 2) I LOVE DIC!!!!* People booing her and pelting her with Skittles* That's right! You heard me! I LOVE the dub job DIC does!!! Call me crazy, but-- * Various people shouting 'crazy'* --call me crazy, but I get a good feeling inside watching DIC's version of Sailor Moon (a feeling I never had while watching Cloverway's dub job; come to think of it, only the Japanese version is the only anime version that makes me just as good!)
Typically I prefer the manga in comparison to the anime. Why? Because it is so beautiful and you get still-shots of everything. They also feature a lot more characters which is a plus for someone like me whose favorite characters are Lethe, Mnemosyne, and Phobos and Deimos.
In my opinion, the manga is better than the anime. For one, there aren't as many plot fillers which gets really annoying after a while. Second, the art is soooo much better. Naoko just has so much talent that part of the whole reason for buying the magna is just to look at pictures. Finally, the plot is more suspensful and I like how Usagi and Mamoru get married in the end.
Personally, I like both versions of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon series. It may be true that the Manga has more depth, but the Anime shows a different aspect of what-could-be in the original, and I absolutely adore the Anime friendship between Usagi and Rei. They are just so kawaii and hilarious together, and are the best of friends. I like Rei's opiniated but caring
personality in the Anime and the Manga. Both versions have a different style of beautiful artwork, and I think they are both good. Manga or Anime, the storylines have different bells ringing for them, and each bell is beautiful in their own way.
I enjoy the manga more than the anime, because the manga's storyline is more in depth, and it can be enjoyed at a slower pace. The artwork is breathtaking, and I enjoy Naoko's commentary. It's just so different. And the anime makes them all less pretty and the storyline is vague and as well it just isn't straight from Naoko's heart, you know?
I think the anime series should not have changed so much of the manga story line. Like Fish Eye and the Lights, I don't mind sex changes and same sex relationships, but I wonder why they changed the characters personality and likes from the book.
(o_0) I think I like the manga better, I like the art better, I like the originality, and I like the
character's eyes better... (^_^)
Well, for me, the manga wins. I just don't really like the anime. My problems with it are several. First of all, the storyline. I don't really like watching all the filler episodes, and the
Anne/Ail story is just sort of dumb, in my opinion. Also, the graphics are simple, flat, and boring compared to the manga. I often prefer manga as it usually has better art, plus you can read it any time and you don't have to set up a VCR or DVD player to watch it. ^^
I love manga. It so much more detailed than the english one. In the manga they actually show blood, and in the anime the only thing they MIGHT show is a bruise.
I really don't know which I prefer because they are both different in some ways. The Manga flows from one storyline to another, making it hard to find all the stories with a certain villain. The Anime (excepting the R season) is divided into seasons with one major villain/evil organization per season. The R season has two different villains. On the other hand, the anime is not as accurately translated as the Manga (no offense to the dub, we're lucky to have it). Of course there is the fact that the manga is black and white and (duh) still, unspeaking pictures while the anime is in color and movement and sound. All points considered, I wouldn't want to do without either, but if I could only have one, anime or manga, I would choose the manga for the art. I love to draw, and without the manga, I would be online all day long.
